Next session: this Thursday, 10am.
What to expect
A typical Thursday might involve sowing seeds in the polytunnel, weeding beds, harvesting for that week’s veg bags, building compost heaps, or learning about the seed sovereignty work. It depends on the season and what needs doing — it’s real, meaningful work, not a tick-box exercise.
You’ll be working alongside us, not just doing the boring jobs. We share what we know, and we learn from you too. And we always stop for a proper lunch together — usually a veg stew made from the plot.
What to bring
- Clothes you don’t mind getting dirty
- Sturdy footwear (wellies are ideal)
- Curiosity — that’s the main one
We provide lunch — usually a veg stew made from whatever’s growing on the plot.
Who volunteers?
All sorts of people — some come every week, some just when they can. People who want to learn about growing, get outside, have something grounding to do, or just be useful. Everyone is welcome.
What you’ll learn
No-dig growing, seed saving, composting, crop rotation, polytunnel management, harvesting, soil health and more. Over time, Thursday regulars build up real practical knowledge of how to grow food.
How to find us
We’re at Tresargie Farm, Redruth. Use the pin below to navigate — satnav to this point on the main road, then come down the lane. (Don’t let satnav route you direct to the farm entrance — it takes you the wrong way.)
