wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<div style=\"max-width:820px;margin:0 auto\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Regenerative growing<\/h2>\n<p>We use low-disturbance growing methods that protect soil structure and support the billions of organisms that make soil alive. We don&#8217;t use synthetic fertilisers, pesticides or herbicides. Instead we build fertility through composting, green manures and cover crops, and the integration of animals. We&#8217;re transitioning toward minimum tillage with green manures \u2014 a more sustainable long-term system.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Community Supported Agriculture<\/h2>\n<p>Our veg box scheme \u2014 a CSA \u2014 means you share the harvest with us for the season. That gives us the stability to plan and grow without the pressure of a normal retail market. It also connects you directly to the food you eat and the people who grew it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group alignfull\" style=\"background-color:#e8f2e1;padding:4rem 1.5rem\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<div style=\"max-width:820px;margin:0 auto\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Open-pollinated and landrace seeds<\/h2>\n<p>We grow only open-pollinated varieties \u2014 seeds free from corporate patents. For selected crops we plant around five different varieties together, encouraging them to cross-pollinate freely. Each season we select the strongest, most locally suited plants to save seed from. Over time those seeds become more adapted to Cornwall&#8217;s conditions \u2014 more resilient, better tasting, and entirely ours to share.<\/p>\n<p>This approach \u2014 developed by seed breeder Joseph Lofthouse as <em>Adaptive Agriculture<\/em> \u2014 works with nature&#8217;s own selection processes. We do this in partnership with the Gaia Foundation&#8217;s Seed Sovereignty Programme as part of the emerging Living Seeds CIC initiative.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Integrating livestock<\/h2>\n<p>Healthy farming systems include animals. We&#8217;re integrating livestock into our growing system \u2014 grazing animals that build fertility, move nutrients, and close the cycles that pure plant-growing leaves open.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group alignfull\" style=\"background-color:#f5ede6;padding:4rem 1.5rem\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<div style=\"max-width:820px;margin:0 auto\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why local food resilience matters more than ever<\/h2>\n<p>In 2023, Professor Tim Lang published <a href=\"https:\/\/nationalpreparednesscommission.uk\/publications\/just-in-case-7-steps-to-narrow-the-uk-civil-food-resilience-gap\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Just in Case: 7 Steps to Narrow the UK Civil Food Resilience Gap<\/em><\/a> for the National Preparedness Commission. His conclusion was stark: there is no serious national plan for food resilience. No town, county, region or country has a joined-up strategy for what happens when supply chains fail, harvests collapse, or imports are disrupted.<\/p>\n<p>Lang&#8217;s recommendations include exactly what we&#8217;re doing here: community-scale growing, local food networks, and practical resilience built from the ground up.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size:1.1rem;font-weight:700;color:#2d5a1b\">We&#8217;re not waiting for a government plan.
